My view of therapy starts with the belief that we each have our own individual strengths, and sometimes it is necessary to be reminded that we do indeed have what it takes to get better.  Oftentimes when we are hurting, we are so tangled-up in our beliefs about how we SHOULD be relating to those around us – instead of how we are ACTUALLY relating – we may lose hope. It is also incredibly important to be gentle with ourselves.  Too often we are our own harshest critic and source of shame. I believe that with the help of a caring and competent therapist, one can be guided back to a place of hope. Hope in our own ability to live a satisfying, healthy, and meaningful life.
